Danville, VA-- Even though it's summer break, several youth in Danville spent their day learning about the importance of education and thinking about career opportunities.
Danville Division of Social Services held a career day at the community market for youth in the city. There was a panel of 13 different professionals ranging from nurses, teachers, attorneys, firefighters, and police officers. They spoke to the youth about the journey of getting to their chosen profession.
"They can begin to think about what they want to do with their lives and get their head and mind focused on education," said Tyra Williamson, Child Protective Service Worker for Danville Social Services. "This was the perfect opportunity to have various professions in one spot."
Organizers said the event was so successful and they'll definitely have another one.
