Danville Sees Very Little Accumulation During Spring Snowfall

Danville, VA - Folks in Danville started Tuesday with a few flakes that later turned into a heavy snowfall, but never did really stick to the roads.

That snow did settle in the trees and on the ground, but it never made for hazardous road conditions.
As the afternoon went on, the precipitation turned to rain, and the ground remained wet, not slick, but parts of Henry County and the other surrounding areas still had heavy snow into the early evening.
There were no school closings on the Southside, and no weather-related accidents to report.
Public Works monitored the temperature of the roads throughout the day.
Officials tell me it never got cold enough for salt and brine to be necessary, but they plan to monitor those roads through Wednesday morning to make sure any overnight ice build up is treated.
