Danville Schools Saving Money For Field Trips

Danville, VA -- Danville City Schools will be saving big bucks this year on field trips. That's because the school board voted to have each school pay a smaller fee to the district for using school buses for field trips.

It used to be that for in-city trips, the schools would pay $30 an hour and $50 an hour for out-of-city trips. Now, they will only have to pay $15 an hour for any trip. They say this will save the individual schools money.

The changes start this school year.
