Danville, VA - The nursing program at Danville Community College got a $100,000 check Tuesday.
Danville Regional Medical Center committed last year to giving the program half a million dollars over 5 years.
The money will go toward two year scholarship programs for students. About 15 students can benefit from this year's money.
"When you have an investment in scholarships from the DRMC or anyone in the community, it is a tremendous help to our students," said Carlyle Ramsey, President of DCC.
Danville Regional Medical Center has asked the students to commit to working there if they have openings when they graduate as part of the deal.
