Danville Police Warning About Debit Card Fraud

Danville, VA - Danville Police are warning people to check their credit card bills.

Captain Dennis Haley says they had more than 15 reported cases of credit card just this past weekend.

It's not unusual for police to have an occasional report, but they say this is suspicious. While they cannot comment on many details of the case, they do suggest that everyone be on the lookout.
Haley says look for charges on your credit and debit card statements. Especially for out of state charges. Haley suggests to check your statement daily and report anything you did not charge.
"When we see this many come in such a short period of time, that's significant change in the normal pattern," said Haley.
Again, if you do have strange charges, contact your bank and then call police.
