Danville Elector Headed to Richmond to Vote for President

Danville, VA - A Danville man is heading to Richmond to cast his vote for President Obama more than a month after he was re-elected.

Chris Daniel was selected back in May as one of 13 Democrats to vote as a presidential elector.

This means he will engage in a formal ceremony to cast his vote for the President and Vice President.

Each party is responsible for selecting electors, and since Virginia went blue, the Democratic electors will go to Richmond.

Daniel says he's excited even though most people don't know what it is.

"It's a part of the process. I think it's very important that people be aware and participate in every part of the electoral process."

The ceremony is Monday at noon.
