Danville College Students Participate in Day to Engage

Danville, VA -- College students from all over the Southside got together to volunteer and help out the community.

Danville Regional Foundation is hosting the "Day to Engage," a program they have each semester to place college students with a community organization in need.
Students from Averett, Danville Community College, and Piedmont Community College in North Carolina are involved. They are helping more than 20 organizations.
"Getting engaged is the first part of the leadership spectrum. We are trying to build more young leaders in the area. We see this as the initial step to getting them involved with that," said Rachel Covington, Fellow with Danville Regional Foundation.
More students are participating this semester than ever before.
