Danville, VA- The Danville Area Boys and Girls Club received a donation from a local credit union Thursday, which they said could go a long way.
The URW Credit Union handed the Boys and Girls Club a $500 check.
A representative from the Boys and Girls Club said URW has always showed that they care about the community, so the donation means a lot.
"When you have organizations in the community that want to partner with you and realize the importance of what you do to help the children of the community and how that eventually helps the entire community, we just feel very blessed indeed," said Debbie Sparks, the Boy and Girls Club Resource Development Director.
The donation be will used to enhance academic, leadership and life skills programs for the children. It will also be used replenish their supplies like pens, pencils and paper.
