Danville After Hours Rotary Club To Dedicate New And Improved Neighborhood Park To Dan Heights Community

Danville, VA-- For two months the Danville After Hours Rotary Club has been hard at work rejuvenating a deteriorating neighborhood park, and now they're almost done.

They're giving the Dan Heights neighborhood a brand new picnic shelter. The club put a new roof on it, repaired and replaced vinyl siding, added picnic tables and benches, and installed two barbecue grills.

They had the Danville Area Boys and Girls Club helping them out on Tuesday by putting the finishing touches on the landscaping in the park.

"It is very good to see a project almost done. It's been good but there's been a lot of parts and pieces to deal with," said Greg Mason, the project leader.

The project has an $8,000 price tag. It's funded through the Danville Regional Foundation Make It Happen Grant.

The new and improved park will be dedicated to the community September 6 at 5 p.m.
