Dan River's Edmunds Hoping to Shine in Spring Ball

Blacksburg - The Hokies are winding down spring football this week, capped by Saturday's 3 o'clock game at Lane Stadium.

One of the players coaches have had their eyes on this spring is redshirt freshman running back Trey Edmunds out of Dan River. Edmunds would love nothing better than to come out of spring as a number one running back.

Trey Edmunds, HOKIES R-FRESHMAN TAILBACK (DAN RIVER), said "In everyone's head, their goal is to start, so we go out there and we compete every day. We push each other, we help each other. We have rivalry, but we're also teammates so we do what we've got to do. But at the end of the day, we're all brothers."

Shane Beamer, HOKIES RUNNING BACKS COACH, said "You know he's 100 miles an hour every snap. Now we've got to refine that and make sure it's always under control. But as far as want-to and effort and energy, he's everything you're looking for. And then he's a powerful guy, too. When he runs the ball, that pile moves."
