Danville, VA - Dozens of middle school football players celebrated their longtime coach Thursday. Dan River Middle School football coach David Bullins says Thursday is most likely his last day.
The 70-year old-coach has been with the football program for 30 years with no pay.
Bullins says every so often he runs into some of previous players - some who are about 40 years old.
He says he stuck around so long because he loves to see his players improve but, he couldn't have done it without some help.
"I'm lucky that I have some coaches that really help me. I couldn't do it I mean I'm ancient. I don't have the energy to do this like I used to," said Bullins.
Thursday, the team had some refreshments and handed out trophies.
