Danville, VA - Folks on the Southside raised more than $20,000 Saturday in support of autism awareness. More than 1100 people rallied together at Angler's Park in Danville for the third annual Dan River Autism Awareness 5K. Organizers say it's the biggest turnout they've ever had. They held a month-long campaign to "Turn Southside Blue" in honor of Autism Awareness month. Saturday's 5K was the big finale. All the money raised goes to the Autism Education Fund, of the Community Foundation of the Dan River Region.
