Danville Resident Kenny Lewis, organized a community event called The Ribs, Rhythm and Blues Soul Festival at the Carrington Pavilion.
Several people gathered to enjoy award winning ribs, and live bands from the area. Some even came as far as North Carolina and South Carolina. There were also plenty of vendors, as well as games for kids.
Lewis said he has a love for music, so he wanted share that with the community.
"It's just something I feel like we needed," said Lewis. "Music touches any and everyone no matter what you're going through, no matter your race or age. It's just something we can all get into together."
Some of the proceeds of the event are to benefit the Danville Area Boys and Girls Club. The event is from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m.
