Cox Communications Offers Low Cost Internet to Less Fortunate

Roanoke, VA - Cox Communications has launched a new initiative to help less fortunate families of school aged children get high speed Internet for a much lower price.

The Connect2Compete initiative targets the families of children who participate in the National Free Lunch Program.

The internet provider is now offering service for just $9.95 per month.

It also includes a free modem and installation.

Educators in Roanoke recently identified a correlation between a student's academic performance and internet access at home.

Families can sign up through the end of the year.
