Lynchburg, VA - Tuesday, Lynchburg City Council and staff held their annual budget retreat.
This year, they met in City Hall for the day-long discussion. City staff outlined each department's budget submission.
Two of the many ideas include sharing library resources in Region 2000 and cutting back on museum events.
"Morning session went extremely well. A lot of good dialogue. The city manager reviewed the challenges we face and how we might get there," said H. Cary, Lynchburg City Council Member.
Cary says some city departments are already cut to the bone. It would actually cost the city more to have someone else do the work than the city do it itself.
