Danville, VA - Democratic Congressional candidate John Douglass made a stop in Danville Monday to speak at a Danville-Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce luncheon.
Douglass spoke mostly about job creation and the economy. He acknowledged that unemployment is a big problem in this region.
Douglass says focusing on education will be one of his top priorities. He also spoke about transportation including the need to bring commercial airlines to Danville.
"If we can get disposable income into the hands of working families every one of the small businesses that were represented today will see their businesses grow and when their businesses grow the whole economy grows," he said.
The Chamber says they have asked Robert Hurt to attend a luncheon debate or discussion.
