Lynchburg, VA - The Coalition Against Domestic Violence had Holly Austin as a guest speaker Friday in downtown Lynchburg.
Austin talked about her experience in child sex trafficking and how she survived. She says she uses her experience to help educate others, including local professionals, on the signs that someone's in that situation and how to stop it.
She says no one ever thinks it can happen where they live.
"Human trafficking happens across the globe and we don't think about it happening in Virginia but it absolutely does, it happens right here in Lynchburg," said Jenna Foster, chair of 24th Judical Coalition against Domestic Violence.
Austin has even appeared on the Dr. Oz show to raise awareness.
