Roanoke, VA - A Roanoke business has started "Furlough Fridays".
The River Rock is offering their gym free of charge, on Fridays, to all government employees affected by the shutdown.
Management got the idea from a furloughed friend.
"She wanted to pass it onto her coworkers and then we also knew some folks in the area that were furloughed so we wanted to offer them something to do until the government reopens," said Operations Manager, Jared Rigby.
The climbing gym - which opened this past March - features all types of climbing challenges including "boulder" climbing as well as variations of tethered climbing.
