City Prepares for Lawsuit Over Downtown Deck Repairs

Picture From June Collapse

Lynchburg, VA - Lynchburg city officials are in a holding pattern over the damaged parking deck downtown because officials say no one will take the blame.

The deck next to the Holiday Inn partially collapsed after police say four big trucks parked on the top level and well exceeded the five ton limit.

According to the city attorney, the truck drivers say hotel employees told them to park there. But the hotel denies that claim.

The city's insurance company is preparing to file a lawsuit against both companies to cough up some money.

In the meantime, the city will have to foot the bill to have the deck fixed.
