City of Lynchburg Looking for Dog Park Monitors

Lynchburg, VA - The City of Lynchburg is looking for the next group of volunteer dog park monitors. Volunteer monitors were first introduced when the dog park opened two years ago.The city mandated the volunteers for the first six months. Now, the city is bringing back the service to help enforce park rules and spread awareness about healthy dog behavior.Volunteer monitors must be responsible and reliable adults, over age 18. Volunteer monitors must enjoy the company of dogs and people, and be personable, with the ability to be polite yet firm when called for to enforce park rules. Volunteers are primarily needed for peak periods at the park, such as weekends and weekday evenings. If you would like to contribute to the success of the dog park and have a temperament well suited to working with both dogs and people, this is your chance to help!.A training will be held Saturday, May 3 at 9 a.m. for all those interested (Rain date: Sunday, May 4 at 2 p.m.).
