Lynchburg City Councilwoman Invited to Meet the First Lady

Lynchburg, VA - Nearly 20% of children in Lynchburg are obese according to the health department.

The Hill City is making strides to help reverse the trend through the "Let's Move! Cities, Towns and Counties" campaign.

It's a national campaign, but Lynchburg city councilwoman Joan Foster has really helped get it going in our area.

Foster was invited to the White House next Wednesday, July 10, to meet the First Lady. She's taking two others who have helped drive the initiative: Leslie Hoglund with the Health Department, and Pediatrician Dr. Rachel Gagen.
