City Council Approves Southside Virginia Wildlife Center

Danville, VA-- A Danville woman will be allowed to have a wildlife rehab center in her home thanks to approval from city council.

Tanya Lovern created a center in her home to help injured animals. Danville City Council approved a special use permit for her operation last night, but there's still one more kink to straighten out.

According to the city code, Lovern is required to have a two-way lane entrance and a parking lot for staff and visitors. Lovern said it will take $35,000 to widen her driveway.

She hopes to get a waiver from the Board of Zoning Appeals.
