Church Stuffs Boxes for Operation Christmas Child

Appomattox, VA - Glory Baptist Church in Appomattox is kicking off the Christmas Season in a big way. Sunday volunteers from the church stuffed around 1600 Operation Christmas Child boxes that will be sent to needy families.

The boxes were stuffed with things like notebooks, crayons, toys, and hygiene items. The boxes will be shipped to families here in the US, as well as around the world.

Volunteers say aside from the goodies, the boxes are the true meaning of Christmas.

"These boxes mean a whole lot to them, and knowing that the word of Jesus Christ is going out in every one of these boxes, it means the opportunity for the gospel to be spread to every one of these children and their families as well," said Stefanie Morgan, a volunteer who helped stuff boxes.
