Appomattox, VA - It may take even longer before we know when accused mass murderer Christopher Speight will go to trial.
Speight is scheduled to appear in Appomattox Circuit Court next Tuesday so a trial date can be set.
But the judge assigned to hear the capital murder case is not scheduled to be in court that day and the Commonwealth's Attorney expects it will be continued to a later date.
Speight remains at the Lynchburg Regional jail, charged with killing eight people including his sister and her family in Appomattox over a year ago.
A judge declared him mentally competent to stand trial.
