Christmas Decorations Begin Going Up
Forest, VA - This time of year, the night sky is usually a bit brighter; Christmas lights are up all over our area.
And some take their decorating seriously.
Like one family in Forest. Frankie Mays says he uses more than 30,000 LED lights for his house.
It cost him a few thousand dollars, and jacks his electricity bill up by more than $150 a month.
It took him four days to get them all up. And will take just as long to take them down.
He says he does it for his three kids, "the kids love it. All the other people that ride through the neighborhood love it. All the neighbors like it, it's fun to do" he said.
Mays says he began putting the lights up after Halloween. Some of the lights he had to order from Florida, because they're not sold in stores.
