Chemical Causes Small Fire at Virdia Sentec

Danville, VA-- Danville fire crews spent more than two and half hours getting rid of smoke inside a laboratory on Thursday.

They got to Virdia Sentec on Slayton Avenue around 12:40 p.m. and found moderate smoke damage.

After investigation they found that a chemical called Hydronol sparked a small fire and also ignited some papers.

Firefighters ventilated smoke from the building, monitored air quality, and began assisting maintenance personnel with water removal once the building was safe.
