Chatham Cavaliers Football - ABC 13 Team of the Week

Chatham - Today's high school Team of the Week is the Chatham football team. The Cavaliers are off to a fast 4-and-0 start, their best start since 2007. Chatham rallied to win at Tunstall last week, earlier wins this season came over Hargrave, Patrick County and Bartlett Yancey. The unbeaten Cavaliers have a tough test this Friday night at Gretna. Chatham is a young team, lots of sophomores and juniors with a talented senior class leading the way.

Paul Grekos, 4TH-YEAR CHATHAM HEAD COACH, said "This team doesn't quit, they don't get down. Their camaraderie and sense of teamwork, you know they love one another. It's a close-knit group."

Shy Smith, CHATHAM SR. RUNNING BACK/LINEBACKER, said "We could have failed a lot of times to a lot of teams but we just stayed together. You know the brotherhood, it's really played a factor in all the games that we've played so far."
Andrew Coder, CHATHAM SR. TACKLE/DEF. END, said "Coach Grekos loves to run the ball and we do as well. Get the line, they block hat on the hat, running backs do their job, that's Chatham football."
