Lynchburg, VA - Lynchburg held our region's first ever Central Virginia Mega Adoption event Saturday.
It was on the grounds of the Presbyterian Home & Family Services and the Family Alliance.
Thirteen shelters, rescues and animal control facilities came out from Nelson County to Roanoke. They brought with them dogs, cats and a rabbit--all up for adoption.
They also had booths set up to educate people on things like spay and neutering and micro chipping.
Organizers say this is a great way to get the community working together and maybe recruit some new volunteers. They say 27 pets were adopted at the event. And they hope to make this an annual tradition.
