Lynchburg, VA- Wednesday's date got a lot of attention. The once in a lifetime 12/12/12 is the last time in quite a while that calendar numbers will align like this.
Some are using this lucky day to play the lottery or get married.
A couple of middle schoolers turned 12 on 12/12/12. None of them say they're particularly superstitious, but they believe something special is in the air.
Sixth grader, Skylar Stout celebrated her birthday at Dunbar Middle School.
She says her 12th birthday has felt especially lucky.
"I actually won a prize today and got a 3 Musketeer and I get to be on TV and stuff, and that's kind of cool," she said.
Across town in Forest, Anna Vitale turned 12 as well.
"Last year no one wished me a happy birthday, but here at the middle school everyone's saying, 'Happy birthday Anna,'" said Vitale.
But perhaps the most memorable birthday is at the Virginia Baptist birthing center right behind Door 21 where Dewmante Garrett was born.
"He was born at 6:48 on 12 12 12," said his mother Wendy Campbell.
Campbell says he came a few weeks early, but she's happy he's here.
"It's something that he'll always remember because it's the last time we'll have those dates so it's very special," she said.
Dewmante's due date was actually January 1, 2013, so he missed that special day and got another one.
