Lynchburg, VA - The Lynchburg area's economy has seen some growth, but experts say that growth is fragile.
Thursday morning, Lynchburg College and the Chamber of Commerce held their annual economic outlook conference. Experts say there's a good deal of uncertainty right now.
A lot of the future of our local economy depends on what's going on with the world economy, but the election could play a role in it as well.
"I'm guardedly optimistic, but unfortunately there are some signs of weakness in the economy and it looks like we may be dealing with some more very moderate growth in the future," said Joe Turek, from the School of Business and Economics at Lynchburg College.
The keynote speaker was Michael Davern, a senior market strategist with Nuveen Asset Management.
