Carroll County Woman Wins $1 Million Prize in Virginia Lottery
Carroll County, VA - When Carol Lammey of Woodlawn scratched her Winner Take All ticket from the Virginia Lottery, she thought something didn't look right. But when her husband took a look, he realized that something was very right. "You won a million!" he said. Indeed she did. Ms. Lammey had just become the second Virginia Lottery player to win the top prize in that game. She bought the winning ticket at Cockerham's Foodmart, located at 1115 East Stuart Drive in Galax. On July 25, Virginia Lottery officials were on hand to present a $10,000 check to the store for selling the million-dollar ticket. Ms. Lammey had the option of taking the full $1 million prize over 30 years or a one-time cash option of $537,393 before taxes. She chose the cash option. Winner Take All (game #1471) features prizes ranging from $10 up to $1 million. There were a total of six $1 million prizes available in this Millionaire Edition of Winner Take All. Since Ms. Lammey is the second top prize winner, four $1 million tickets remain unclaimed.
