Roanoke, VA - The City of Roanoke held the 7th Annual Career, Lifestyle and Financial Fitness Fair Tuesday and even with unemployment numbers down, the turnout was strong.
With two hours to go the fair had already attracted more than the 500 people who came out last year.
Dozens of employers as well as others that work in the lifestyle and financial sectors were on hand at the Roanoke Civic Center.
City officials say they believe they know what is driving the turnout.
"I think the recent layoffs in the region are resulting in all these people being here today. But people look great. They are excited to be here and I hope they will find success here," said Lisa Solstis with the City of Roanoke.
The fair is usually held in December, but has now been moved to January to avoid issues with the holidays.
