Campbell County Sheriff's Office Honor Deputies in Ceremony

Campbell Co., VA - The Campbell County Sheriff's Office honored some of their finest deputies, staff and citizens in a special ceremony.

These are people who have gone above and beyond the call of duty.

One of the recipients of the Sheriff's Life Saving Awards was Tim Ewers. In June of last year, Tim stopped his car when he saw a flipped Jeep on the

side of the road. He found a man inside and called 911.

Some believe that if Tim hadn't stopped when he did, Sam Calohan may have bled to death.

"I just feel like I was meant to be there that night just like Sam might have meant to be in that situation. I did everything different that day, It was kind of against everything I normally do it's like I was just pointed in that direction," said Ewers.

"This is an opportunity for me to say again, thanks for what you do, thanks for your sacrifice and their families sacrifice," said Steve Hutcherson.

Investigator Jason Sloan received the Medal of Valor award for his work during a CVS robbery.

There were many more honorees with so many great stories. Everyone was recognized and then celebrated with a little cake.
