Campbell County, VA- Campbell County is getting ready to say goodbye to its administrator of close to 20 years. David Laurrell will retire this month.
He says retirement is bittersweet, but he's pleased with the work done in the county and is excited to see what's ahead.
He says some of the main accomplishments over his tenure is the creation of the Public Safety Department. He also says he's proud that all the county elementary schools have been remodeled or reconstructed. Laurrell says it has been time well spent.
Tuesday the board of supervisors recognized Laurrell for his service at their board meeting.
His last full-time day is August 31st, but he'll continue part time in September, then he'll be a consultant for the county until his position is filled.
He says they are currently interviewing and seeking a replacement.
