Buzzing Week of Aug. 6: Friday Cheers, NatureFest & Beer Festival
If you haven't made it out to the party with a purpose in Lynchburg, this is your last change. The finale of Friday Cheers is August 10. The Jenny Reynolds and Cherry Hill band will kick off the show at 6 p.m. with great acoustic music. Then The Ruckus will rock the rest of the night. Tickets are $5 and that's at Riverfront Park.
On Saturday, Aug. 11, come out to explore and learn about nature. NatureFest 2012 will have presentations and guided walks done by professional naturalists. You can learn about bears, wildland fires, and spiders too. Later, there will even be star gazing outside the Nature Center area. The fest is 9 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Check out all the activities here.
To all my beer lovers out there-one of Roanoke's biggest beer festivals is this Saturday. The 15th annual MicroFestivus Craft Beer Festival starts at noon in Elmwood Park. There will be 49 breweries and 120 different beers. Of course there will also be a ton of food and live music until 6 p.m.
