Buzzing Week of Aug. 27: Comedy, Music & Yoga
If you're a fan of stand-up comedy, this Thursday a Comedy Central star will be in Roanoke Ralphie May will perform at the Jefferson Center for his "Too Big to Ignore" tour. May won second place on the show "The Last Comic Standing," and has toured with other popular comedians. He'll be on at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $35.
August 31 kicks off a three day festival of music and yoga. The Floyd Yoga Jam is Friday through Sunday! There will be 17 bands, two yoga tents, beer, wine and a ton of tasty food options. You can also attend workshops on topics including health, local foods, and meditation. There will also be a kid's area and arts and crafts.
Peaks of Otter is having its "An Apple a Day" open house on September 1. Come out to Bedford to taste a variety of apples and tour the vineyard. You can also check out the farm animals and picnic on the grounds. Of course there's also wine tasting, and that's free from noon to 5 p.m.
