Weekly Buzz: Week of April 9

Did you know Lynchburg is near the top when it comes to places with the most Civil War Trail sites? Well know you have an opportunity to see them all. Friday through Sunday is Civil War Trails Weekend, and you can visit all 12 trail markers. There will be a re-creation of an encampment and interactive exhibits from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. You can pick up an itinerary at EC Glass. Get more information on the Civil War trails.{}

Friday is Thomas Jefferson's birthday, and you can celebrate at Poplar Forest in Forest. There will be cake from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and it'll be free with regular admission.

On Friday night the band REHAB hits the stage at Phase 2. REHAB jams to a mix of southern rock, county and hip hop and will definitely have you on your feet. The band gets on stage at 10 p.m. and tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

On Saturday, April 14 Peaks of Otter Winery is hosting the Blossom to Bottle 5K Race. You can run, jog or walk over the hills and through the blossoms all to benefit a cancer program at the Bedford YMCA. The race starts at 9 a.m. and registration is $15 in advance or $20 on race day.

The actor, author and stand-up comedian Lewis Black sill be live at the Roanoke Performing Arts Theatre on Thursday, April 12. His performance is part of his "In God we Rust" tour and will be on at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $35 to $55.
