      Buzzing the Week of April 16

      If you love French cinema, you won't want to miss the 7th annual CINEviews French Film Festival in Lynchburg this weekend. It kicks off Friday, April 13 at Riverviews Artspace with the "Night in Paris" Gala at 6:30 p.m. The evening will have live music, dance performances, food from local restaurants, cocktails and wine all for $65. You can go back Saturday and Sunday to watch French films for $5. You can get details and the list of films here.{}

      Want to get your dance on for a good cause? This Saturday, April 21 is Lynchburg Project Lifesaver's 3rd annual "Second Chance Prom." The band Pizzazz will be performing at the fundraiser at Phase 2. It starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are $100 per couple of $50 a person. Make sure you dress to impress!

      And if you didn't get a chance to catch a game this weekend, the Salem Red Sox will have two more games of their first homestand of the season. They play the Lynchburg Hillcats at 7 p.m. April 17 & 18. Tickets are $8 for general admission.

      Also in SalemApril 21 is the 14th annual Blue Ridge Kite Festival. You and your family can come out and enjoy the sunshine from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It's free and kids can get free shirts and free kites! There will be music, good, arts and crafts and fun for everyone.
