Buzzing in To Zombie Walk, Nathan Norman Benefit & Theater Gala
Lynchburg is getting ready for Halloween, and this Saturday, zombies are invading the city.
It's the 2nd Annual Lynchburg Zombie Walk on Main Street downtown. You can get your zombie make-up done there and compete in a brain eating contest!! It's not really a brain, it's jello, but it should be fun. The walk kicks off at 6 p.m.at the community market. Those taking part should bring a canned food to benefit the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.
There's another great cause Saturday for a 5-year-old boy who's been battling cancer. Nathan Norman has tumors in his spine and brain and is undergoing chemo. Maybe you heard about his family celebrating an early Christmas to help him fight. You can support Nathan and his family at the Grit Ruritan and Community Center in Hurt. There will be a bake sale, car check-ups, silent auction and haircuts. That's 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Get more information on the event's Facebook page.
The Union Street Theater in Danville is hosting a Red Carpet Gala on Saturday. They event will benefit the Junior Theatre Company of the theater. There will be a Broadway show, dancing and an auction, which includes a Broadway trip to New York City. Tickets are $50 a person or $80 a couple, which includes two drink tickets.
