Buzz Oct. 27: Halloween Parties, Harvest Festival & Chili Cookoff

In Lynchburg, Saturday, October 27 is the Harvest Festival at the community market. Come out to downtown Lynchburg to celebrate the end of the growing season. You can pick up pumpkins, apples, corn and much more. There will also be games and pumpkin painting. Kids can even go around to trick or treat with the vendors! That's from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In Campbell County, it's going to a party with The House Band! The fun R&B band will be at Rustburg High School. There will be a costume party and carnival games for everyone. Admission is $5, and that's 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

All you chili loverscome check out the 16th Annual Chili Cook-Off Saturday! The Sedalia Center will be packed with chili experts as they show off their skills. For $15, you can taste all the different chili and listen to live music. You can get tickets for $10 if you buy them in advance.

In Rustburg - several local bands like The Bush League right there will be on stage. It's the Southbound Jamboree Halloween Festival on Saturday. There will be costume contests with prizes, games and a ton of food. Tickets are $10. Get more information on the event's Facebook page.
