Buzz March 15-17 : Ted Neeley, Shemekia Copeland & Other Bands in Concert

A singer and actor is coming to town Friday, March 15! Ted Neeley and The Little Big Band will be at Dunbar Middle School. You may recognize Neeley from his role in the 1973 film "Jesus Christ Superstar." Now he's kicking off his tour to pay a tribute to Lynchburg's Carl Anderson. He and his band will perform songs from some of his previous work. Tickets are $35 for adults and $20 for students, and all the money goes back to the school's theater program. Another big concert will be at the Academy of Fine Arts Friday. The world-known blues artist Shemekia Copeland will be right here in Lynchburg! The 2013 Grammy nominee has been called the "Queen of Blues" and has won more than 30 International Blues Awards. The show at 8 p.m., and tickets are $34. You can buy tickets here.{}

The Band of Oz is at Phase 2 Friday night. The band plays fun beach music that always gets the crowd on its feet. Come out from 8 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.

And finally, the Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra presents the "Festival of Brass" Saturday. Take a trip through musical history as they perform classic brass quintet pieces. The concert will be inside the historic Court Street United Methodist Church. Tickets are 20 for adults and 5 for student.
