Buzz June 28-30: Woman Can Fly, Celebrate America & Bluegrass Concert

The Signature Soundz{}band will be on stage at Riverfront Park for Friday Cheers on June 28. Head downtown for a night of great music, drinks and dancing. That's $5 bucks and it's 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Any of you ladies out there ever dream of flying a plane? Well this Saturday, June 29, Liberty University is putting on the Woman Can Fly Event at Lynchburg Regional Airport. The goal is to get more women involved in the aviation community. Pilots from LU's aviation program will be there giving free airplane rides! And I'll actually be taking part in that, so come on out and join me. It starts at 9 a.m and goes until 4 p.m.

July 4th is next week, but the celebration begins this weekend! Come out for Celebrate America 2013 at Thomas Road Baptist Church! There will be a water slide, rock wall climbing, obstacle courses and so much more. The event goes 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and is free! Of course, there will be fireworks at night.

A bluegrass band is coming from Alabama to perform at the Madison Heights Community Center. The James River Bluegrass Association presents David Davis and the Warrior River Boys{}on Sunday. Admission is $15.{}
