There's another big day this weekend, and there are a couple of New Year celebrations going on in our area.
In Lynchburg, you can ring in the new year at Phase 2! The Almost Brothers Band featuring Lauren Smyk will be playing all night. The party is $15 starting at 7:30 p.m. You can also eat from a dinner buffet there, that will another $15 and that's at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are still available, and you can get those online.
You can also dance the night away with The House Band in Lynchburg. The group will be at the historic Oakwood Country Club on Rivermont Avenue. For 85 dollars, you can enjoy the music, a buffet dinner and a champagne toast at midnight. It's open to anyone, and it starts at 7 PM.
And in Roanoke, come out to Blue 5 for a great New Year's party! The Jamie McLean Band will be on stage performing its latest hits. McLean was the guitarist for New Orlean's Dirty Dozen Brass Band. On Monday they'll play a mix of original blues, jazz and rock music. That starts at 9 p.m., and tickets are $15.
