Pittsylvania Co., VA - Both Centra and Danville Regional Medical Center have been conditionally approved to get CT scanners at newly proposed facilities.
Earlier this month, officials from Centra and DRMC met at a public hearing to appeal for state approval to get advanced imaging machines.
The state review board had the option to approve or deny either or both of the requests.
The board has recommended that the scanners be approved, but the final decision lies with the Commissioner.
Supervisor Jerry Hagerman has been a longtime supporter of the Centra project, but says both facilities could use this equipment.
"I think it's good. I really do, and I'm proud to see both organizations get this," Hagerman said.
It's up to the Commissioner now to make the final decision.
