Blue Ridge PBS Sets Transmitter Dates

Roanoke, VA - Blue Ridge PBS has announced the official date they plan to shut down part of their transmission grid due to state budget cuts.

WMSY-TV in Marion and WSBN-TV in Norton will go black at midnight Tuesday.

The loss of those two transmitters mean tens of thousands of homes across southwestern Virginia and eastern Tennessee will be without a public broadcast station.

Blue Ridge PBS management also cites significantly higher dues required to be paid by affiliates to PBS national.
