Lynchburg, VA - The end of the year means last-minute mailing looking for donations.
Looking to fill shelves, the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank just sent out its donation request. The Lynchburg branch says folks have been real generous this year. Still, there's always a need for canned fruits and soups, even pasta and peanut butter.
The food bank also wants to remind you that even the smallest donation goes a long way: a single dollar can make four separate meals.
"Each dollar that's contributed to the food bank goes a long way to helping a lot of people in our community with that number of meals we can give with it," said Jim Scrivener, manager of Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.
Blue Ridge helps feed 20,000 people in Lynchburg alone.
