Black Friday Madness in Lynchburg

Lynchburg, VA - Shoppers hit local stores late Thursday evening and early Friday morning, kicking off the holiday shopping season.

Long lines formed outside Target and Best Buy on Wards Road in Lynchburg, with shoppers camping out to get deals on electronics and toys.

Customers also flocked to Toys 'R Us at Candlers Station for doorbuster deals Thursday night.

"I drag the cart. I don't leave the cart. She brings the stuff to the cart," said Barbara Stallings, who was shopping with her daughter. "We have another daughter that's in Georgia. She's in line there. She calls us. If she can't get it down there, y'all get it there. We're doing this back and forth calling."

In Roanoke, the line at Target wrapped behind the building Thursday night. A church youth group served hot chocolate to people waiting in line at Best Buy. Old Navy was so crowded after opening, that people had to wait in line for others to leave the store.
