Bill Folger decided to make his proposal very special and memorable for his future wife, Kathy. Both were in the handbell choir at Memorial Christian Church in Lynchburg.
One Sunday morning in 1985, as they were setting up to perform, Bill got Kathy's music folder and put a special note on the second page of her music. When she turned the page during the performance, she saw the note that read, "Will you marry me? Ring once for "no" and more than once for "yes"...knowing she had to ring many times during the performance. After they finished playing, Bill gave her a chance to say "no" but she said "yes."
Bill says Kathy can always say that when he proposed to her, she heard bells ringing!
