Biker Being Treated for Injuries After Getting Hit by Car in Lynchburg

Lynchburg, VA - A man is being treated for minor injuries after police say a driver hit him while he was riding his bike on Langhorne Road in Lynchburg Tuesday.

Lynchburg Police officials say the accident happened around 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of Langhorne Road and Tate Springs Road.

They say the bicyclist was riding on Langhorne Road crossing the intersection when a woman driving a Toyota Camry hit him. The woman was turning left from Langhorne Road onto Tate Springs Road.

Officials say the man was thrown from his bike and suffered minor injuries. He is being treated at Lynchburg General Hospital.

The driver was charged with failure to yield.

Police are still investigating.
