Danville, VA - Thousands of dollars were stake today at a Shark Tank-like competition in Danville called The Big Launch Challenge.The competition started with 31 contestants at the beginning of March and narrowed down to six finalists.Each contestant gave the final pitch of their technology-related business to a panel of five judges at the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research.Contestants said it's a nerve wracking process and the pressure is high. The top two winners will receive up to 15-thousand dollars each."You're putting out your baby into the world. It's always a little scary to see what people say and see how people are going to be accepting of it," said Liz Morris, Big Launch Challenge 2014 Competitor.The winners will also have access to entrepreneurship resources. The Launch Place and First Flight Venture Center organized the competition.Larry Dickinson of 3F, LLC, captured first place and $15,000. Second place went to Liz Morris of Sanitation Creations. She won a cash prize of $12,000.
